The Gissetti Group Characters

WARNING! Not to be confused with the other 'Characters' page on this website, which is list of all the Minami-story-specific characters found in things like 'The Guardian' and 'Mysterious Island'. This is the list of characters the Gissetti Group originally came up with for an episodic story much like the original anime. Old pictures of these characters are available, with new pictures on the way. Sometime. Don't hold your breath.

Cedar Chemalle - the protagonist of the story, and the descendant of Ash Ketchum. Originally in the story she started with a Pikachu; this was later changed to an Eevee (which is why in the second rewrite of 'The Guardians' she has an Umbreon as her partner. For those who took at look at the first story ever written about Cedar, the Pokémon present from her mother was changed at the same time to a Seel (so Cedar wouldn't end up with two Eevee). This change was unfortunately never edited into the story and remained simply a verbal decision between the Gissetti Group's members.

Cedar has had a lot of changes over the years. She originally had brown hair and started off in Minami, which was changed to blonde (and Pallet Town) soon after. She then became far more than just another Pokémon Trainer with her gifts of Elemental Dark and Water powers. She reflects this now in her latest reincarnation as being gifted with Dark Cho'moken; as well as the ability to access Aura, a lucky throwback from Ash's ancestry.

Don't bother pointing the Mary-Sue finger please. Cedar was a self insert for many years (I'm admitting it gladly!), however as we've matured, so has she as a character. She's not just 'speshul' for the sake of it. Her Dark and Aura powers point back to Ash (anybody remember the Pokémon Master fan fiction by Ace Sanchez where Ash could control the 'Shadow' Element?) and similarly, her Water powers to Misty (yes, we Pokéship).

Ah, Robert. The first love-interest for Cedar and our take on Misty's idiomatic character if he was male (but yes, there still was a fear of Bugs!). Created by Aaria. Lover of Electric Pokémon, he too originally started with a Pikachu - in the story, Cedar's Pikachu and Robert's Pikachu were going to hit it off straight away and create some serious comical and yet uncomfortable feelings for the two Trainers. Once Cedar's Starter Pokémon changed to an Eevee, so did his; however his was eventually going to be evolved into a Jolteon. Umbreon and Jolteon were going to have lots of lovely Eevee babies - we had one or two hilarious time-travel episodes as I recall, which may eventually get up here as well.

I wish I had Aaria's episode folder with me right now to further talk about Robert... Ah yes, that's right; he had a twin brother named Roberto, who was a complete player. Spawned another comic scene in our planned episodes as I remember, since Robert had kept it pretty quiet that he not only owned the Vermillion Gym alongside his brother, but that he had a brother at all... hehehe...

Lisa. She was basically the female version of Brock (complete with obsession with the opposite gender!). Nuthin' much else to say here.

Professor Wattyle. AKA Professor Eucalyptus, Eucalypt, etc. The female Professor. Originally, she was male... I think Eucalypt is male in the uploaded story, in any case.

Rebecca. Well, as the history goes, Cedar in fact had two rivals; one was Hawthorn (my creation), who unfortunately never got a picture. Rebecca (Aaria's creation) did. Hawthorn was the stuck-up princess trope character, Rebecca was... well, as far as I could work out, was a dorky klutz of some kind who paid to have cheerleaders behind her grand entrances. She didn't get much screen time.

Team Missile. We had three Teams of note to appear in specific episodes. Missile and Torpedo were serious about their stuff. Missile had younger kids in it - I think they were a break off Team from Torpedo, perhaps? Maybe not... in any case, they weren't really viewed as rivals (like in Team Aqua and Magma's case) but rather two teams working simultaneously for a somewhat similar outcome. Kid and Carson had a talking Skitty, and were meant to be the bumbling thieves like Jesse, James and Meowth.

Maybe not... in any case, they weren't really viewed as rivals (like in Team Aqua and Magma's case) but rather two teams working simultaneously for a somewhat similar outcome. Ned and Kelly had a talking Arcanine, and were going to be much more skilled than Team Torpedo.

Team Scud. The story behind Team Scud was that Team Rocket was pretty much dead by now, with most of its members gone. Team Scud was pretty much only made up of two people, Wyatt and Erp, who had a dream to keep the Team Rocket white tomorrow dreams alive and stand up for the old traditions. Elderly humour ensued in all episodes that they ever appeared in. Their partner Pokémon was a Slowpoke - who surprisingly (or not for that matter depending if you're going on Team tradition or not) couldn't talk.
