This is the 2008 update to the old GG information page located at our first ever site. Please also note that I only use past tense in the sense that even though we have not formally disbanded, we are not really all that dedicated to working together on this club and its many projects any longer. All the same I hold it dearly in my heart and one of my dream pet projects is to completely resurrect it someday. But we'll have to see...
The Gissettison Group was a Pokémon club formed by me and Aaria back in 1999. The Group was mainly focused upon using creativity and imagination in order to broaden our own Pokémon horizons. We started coming up with ideas like the episodic story of a new original Trainer and her journey around her region, fake Pokémon and then eventually a new region for them to inhabit (which eventually became Minami!).
During the later years of our club when Minami was a far greater influence on my Pokémon creativity, we decided to push the boundaries of our characters, ideas, stories and fakers a little more. We both agreed we wanted to take the phenomenon that was Pokémon into our own hands, hold it and study it, rip out a few parts which looked ugly and maybe even add a few missing pieces - to make it our own; to rebel against the norm, in a sense. We discussed this at length (some of the details of which are recorded for posterity in the GG Plans). And ended up with a whole new Element list, a major switch in Cedar's character, edited fakers, more plot details and a few more major changes in our thinking.
During its time as a flourishing 'place' for ideas (since we didn't really have a club room, or had too many ^^'), the GG club had five or so members. The somewhat naive and yet entertaining idea to increase the club's numbers back in the very beginning ended up with members who didn't even like Pokémon that much. In any case, the two of us have always been the two with the driving force - and I'd have to say Aaria has been the total champion.
