Brainstorm Book

FYI: The following text is a typed out version of all the brainstorming ideas from the book I bought to put ideas down for the first version of The Guardian; the story of Minami's colonisation. None of it is edited. This took me so long to transcribe and edit according to my horrible handwriting I figured even though it's dead boring, it still deserves a place in the menu...

If anyone's interested however, this shows that sometimes coming up with a detailed and interesting story with multiple plots running at the same time is not instantaneous or sequential. Some of the ideas used were changed dramatically once something else cropped up as a potential storyline. Also, a lot of backstory was added after a long time of having no reason for things happening. As you'll see...

Part 2 of Minami Movie
15.1.06

Char's from other regions - Louisa Philippa (maybe not Pip), Cedar, Robert, ???

Characters from Minami - Aspen - her family, (Briar), Laurel (?)

Way to explain them coming to Minami...

- Celebi transporting them to the future? Aspen is obviously a teen way after the first part of the movie... so once the Kanto residents are sent into the future Aspen is slightly older than Cedar even though she was born a hundred years into the future...

- As Celebi cannot teleport them all the way from Kanto* to Minami, she enlists the help of... another legendary - Mew, Mewtwo,

- Mewtwo grants their memory (of wanting to return to Kanto) back after they arrive so they are not unduly affected by the Guardian's Curse.

* Before they go to Minami, the Others are able to witness the destruction of the Kanto Apocalypse. (ALSO CEDAR!!! wanting to find the Light Princess

In Minami the others... come across Aspen and Briar suffering the effects of an earthquake.

(Are the Dragon's present at this time)
Yes cos it fits in with Louisa's script.

Louisa challenges them and they explain the prophecy. She refuses to assist them in wreaking vengeance and so they continue without her.

(something has to trigger the reformation of the dragons guardian & the awakening of Omneon...

Louisa summons Karda - instead of siding with Lou however, he allows the dragons to meld and form the Guardian.

Louisa battles the Guardian & gets defeated.
(Somewhere in here, humans retaliate)
On a nearby island, humans retaliate to the dragons' destruction by taking weapons to trees and Pokémon alike.

One such human with an axe swings a heavy blow at the marble statue of Omneon and meets no resistance. Instead, he swings 360° & comes face to face with a very angry legendary.

Omneon goes to the main island of Minami and joins in the fray. A human aims a gun @ it and Aspen (who had been feeling pretty hopeless) screams & protects its body.

As the gunman orders her out of the way, Omneon opens a mind link with her.

Gasping & in shock; she looks wide eyed at Omneon, who nods, and then faces the guard.

Slowly Aspen turns around too and stands slowly; facing the guard. Her eyes are crystalline white - totally white and shining powerfully.

Omneon and her kill the guard - first blinding him, then Omneon finishes him off.

A brief pause in here where we find Aspen, Omneon, Trinyte, Cedar, Philippa, Louisa and Robert together.

After she meets up with them, she has physically changed from wielding so much Light power (in what way?)

Cedar gasps - she recognises the signs of power and hails her as the Light Elemental Princess. Aspen says no way - then turns to Omneon. "Am I?" Omneon crushes her hope by being a bitch. "Your Light powers are mine. I used your body as a way to brandish as much Light power

cont'd

"as I could. No more."
Aspen is crushed. She cries & runs away. Louisa has a go at Omneon for having a go at Aspen but Omneon shrugs this off as a necessary thing. Louisa looks confused at his words and but he merely smiles.

MEANWHILE the Guardian (in its large form)

has been recuperating from Louisa. (hehee!) in a tree refuge it created.

(WHAT happens now?) (-should I continue with the previous idea? it is a very big anticlimax but it's all I can think of at this point.)

What finishes the Guardian off?

Humans & legendaries & Umbreon chat about it.
- It's not a Pokémon (can't be 'caught')
- It is too strong to take on (by humans)
- Pokémon of Minami refuse to fight it.
- Sacrifice humans to it? (the twelve prophets?)
- Sacrifice Pokémon to it? (does Omneon mention this to the Guardian? (which would create the whole anticlimax?))
- Another legendary introduced? (how on earth would that help?!)
* Beshara & Examolt?
* Mewarth?

- Random idea - what if every pokemon used their elemental power at the same time - thus draining the dragons and negating the Guardian (omni) power?
- We need the Guardian to make the tree though... (maybe for now I should go with the whole light/darkness sacrifice thing..)
Until I think of a better idea

Aspen is unable to convince herself she is the Light Princess (because of Omneon) and so she decides to sacrifice herself to the Guardian and stop the merciless killing.
- Who comes in at this moment?
- Omneon?
- Cedar?
- Trinyte?
- Umbreon?
Cedar I think cos she's the Dark Princess.
"No - you are the light princess."
"Yes." Omneon agrees. "Can you feel your power?"
"I can feel your power." Aspen sighed. "But it's yours."
"What is mine; belongs to you also."
"Channel it." Cedar urges.
"How?"
"The easiest way, is to form an elemental repository around your body, or wherever it's easiest."
Then let it flow to your hands.

Aspen does so. Cedar clasps her fingers. "They're hot."
"Body heat." "Merely body heat." Omneon derides her.
Aspen struggles more power into her hands. Slowly they begin to glow a sickly yellow.

"So." Cedar grins. "You don't need to sacrifice yourself any more, do you?"

"But we still have the problem of the Guardian."

Brainstorm Idea:
- I used to have an idea that Celebi makes a time mistake; and that's why there are duplicates for a second, but instead, in order for the Guardian to be nullified, Aspen & and Cedar and another Aspen & Cedar have to create an eclipse, then add all the other elements. To do that, Celebi transports the current Aspen & Cedar into a timed-out area, where they wait in stasis. Cedar tutors Aspen as they wait.

Then, Celebi

Everyone realises that

17.8.06
* More movie ideas

- The legend of the 'One Tree'; that all trees want to be the 'one tree' as a sort of legendary figure among the flora sphere. Philippa explains this to the group.

This then ties in to the resolution of the movie - when the Guardian turns into the One Tree.

Also
Omneon's reason for being on the oasis north of Minami. It did something wrong (but what?) which incited the Guardian's wrath. Omneon is crushed, and decides to sacrifice itself (or something) and instead the Guardian curses it by exiling it to the island and making it turn to marble every night when the sun sets.
*BRAINSTORM IDEA*
The reason Omneon has all the elements is because it did an unholy ritual and banded all the Elements to its body rather then just its light Element. This is the reason for its exile. (man am I good)

*another idea*
for the holy ritual at the beginning - could that be juxtaposed with Omneon's ritual - only while the Guardian's ritual is more an affirmation, Omneon's is a savage power lust.

*Shattering of crystal Omneon
*Why?
- I wrote this because it was dramatic and it made more sense in the scene. Does it tie in? No I don't think so. Instead, make it that Omneon is reformed the next day at dawn - sorta like any other curse where you can't escape by killing yourself.

Parts 1, 2 & 3
* The first boy destroys Omneon (until dawn) (he is well gone by then, having been transported back to Kanto by Trinyte).

* The second couple are not that lucky. The man incites the Guardian's wrath by smashing the trees when exploring. Bloomeon kills the woman, the Hurfair clan kills the man.

* The third arrival - Gym Leader escapes after nearly being killed by Bloomeon. The Trainers are not that lucky and get eaten by a mother Terrasorex. The scientists... what happens?
(Get shocked to death by Electrivy?)
- Interlude of missing people notices.
*The fourth arrival. Police definitely. SWAT teams?
Maybe...
This is the most important scene of all because it involves what human gene pool survives on Minami.
Police etc explore the island. The Guardian is riled after he learns what guns do, and sets upon them. Aerix attack them at the volcano, and after they leave that place they're attacked by Pokémon from every side.

Amazingly, the guns are not used - being rendered useless by the Guardian - who uses the Elements against them. Once a Pokemon is captured however, the Guardian is shocked and frustrated.

- His ultimate move - one that would kill him, but leave the Pokémon safe?
* He kills the humans, only to realise that there are now a new more (civilians) coming. So he, again frustrated, places a curse upon the island with the promise that they would lose all compunctions to return home ever - and stay on Minami, caring for it.

Once the new band of civilians land, they 'forget' about their past life, and settle down in Minami. More curious people come.

*Omneon cannot access his elemental powers that are exhibited by on his body. (a bit like Aes Sedai being stilled, in the way that while he can sense it - he cannot use it.)
* Instead of him being cruel/wise to Aspen - he is at first ecstatic that he can use Light again - then jealous that it's actually through Aspen acting as a catalyst. This is why he denounces her power - (not because he is trying to be cruel to be kind) - as I had as an idea earlier).

*What is the Guardian?

- I just watched Lucario & the mystery of Mew for the second time and I think I can use a few ideas from that.

*The Guardian is

HISTORY - The Guardian was a "legendary" Pokémon of Minami - being solitary in its species & power. It was much like Mew of Kanto or Celebi of Johto - being small and cute. However it was still very powerful. Its Elements were Grass and Water.
- The first, first ever visit from 'outside' was when a pirating army came to pillage and cause destruction in an attempt to seize the island. (ties in to the original idea of a pirate, although harmless, coming to Minami after a shipwreck.)

- The pirates are both Pokémon & humans. They have armour of a black & white colour.

- The Pokémon legendary rushes to the center of Minami and accesses Aura - (HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?!) (through the One Tree!)

He cleanses and rise the area of Minami of the horrible forces but in doing so, destroys himself.

- He vanishes, and his soul/aura/ghost remains in the One Tree.

During the ages, the One Tree melds with his Aura and the two become one (there was a symbiotic relationship before, however). Thus the Tree/Guardian is able to speak to the trees and Pokémon. HE BECOMES A CREATURE OF AURA ONLY - his physical form disappears,

- When the Guardian Tree is angry - the power of Aura appears as an emerald shine in the air.

- Philippa notices the One Tree as soon as they come across it but they don't realise that the Guardian is the Tree until the end.

Should the Time Flower show them?

No, instead Philippa requests the Time Flower, but Celebi decides to take them into the past where they finally see the true past.

NO - they use the Guardian/One Tree as the Time tree.

Draft

Aspen stared in horror as Louisa crumpled lay, crumpled and unmoving, on the forest floor. Philippa dashed over and knelt at her side, emitting worried moans.
Nearby, the fighting continued. As her attention turned from the harsh panting of Louisa to the snarls of many Pokémon, she noticed a gun-man stagger across the clearing, aiming his rifle as he did so.
His target was a dishevelled-looking quadruped - who's eclectic startlingly mished body left many questions as to what it actually was.
The gun was cocked. Somebody started screaming. When Aspen opened her eyes to find her arms wrapped protectively around the Pokémon's neck and her right leg smarting from the mad dash from a standstill, she realised it had been herself.
The man - still eyeing her down past the gun's viewpoint - snarled at the distraction. "Get outta the way, kid. That thing is dangerous."
It made a melodious harsh braying sound in reply - and turned its liquid gaze to Aspen. Their eyes met.

Aspen was floating... her body cozily warm amidst a sea of light. Golden rays streamed over her face and body as she lay there...
The gun man made another furious grunt in his throat and prodded her again. What was she doing? He had warned her!
Slowly the girl started, her face turned pressed into the Pokémon's spiny neck fur. Her face moved slightly to the left.
"Don't be an idiot. Get away from the thing."
She turned to face him - and he let out a yodel of terror. Where her eyes had been were brilliant white orbs. The Pokémon's were the same. Light flashed from all four eyes instantaneously - the man instinctively put a hand to his eyes.
But it was too late. A glowing dim haze of blue/purple was that that met his eyes as he opened them again.
The girl stood - her right hand resting on the Pokémon's shoulderblades. Their eyes still beamed white light from them.
The Pokémon snarled - and leapt from the man's jugular.

Aspen blinked. "Wha-?" She was standing, when last she remembered she had been kneeling. And the Pokémon was gone.

Before her lay the carcass of a man. His throat had been torn out. Further on stood Cedar, Robert, and the two Elementals.
Cedar whistled appreciatively. "We take our eyes off you one second, and something like this happens?"
Aspen's eyes widened. How could they possibly think she had... ?! "No! I didn't kill him!"
On all four faces, a look of confusion passed across, then Cedar laughed. "Nah, we don't mean him... I'm saying that you're the missing Princess!"
"Sorry? Princess?"
Louisa looked to Cedar. "I don't think they use that particular word here. Aspen - what we're saying is that you're a Light Elemental. Cedar has been searching for her opposite for ages."
"Get lost!" Aspen scoffed, then wondered why a look of pained hurt crossed their faces. "I mean, you can't be serious..." An Elemental? No way.
<They are wrong. All wrong.> came a sneering voice from the trees. The same Pokémon she had protected walked in and stood in the centre of them. <She has no more Elemental ability than any other human here. I am the Light Elemental. I had to use a human to attack protect me, other-wise I may be dead by now.>
Slowly, Philippa's gaze grew stony. "You're a Light Elemental? You look more like you're Elementally disturbed. Besides That's a Dark symbol on your forehead."
Its hackles rose as she continued. <I am more than a Light Elemental! I hold the power of all Elements within me! I am all powerful!>
"But I'm sure I felt it within Aspen. Why would a Pokémon bother using a human anyway?"
<Silence!> it roared, the spines clacking as it bounded up to Aspen. <Look. Her mind and body is perfect for a receptacle of extreme power. She is perfect. Need I demonstrate again?>
"I don't want y-" Aspen began, beginning to feel annoyance at being talked about for so long, but she couldn't finish. She was once again floating in the light.
The Pokémon's voice echoed through the beams of white to her. <Hah! It has been so long.> But no curious questions came to mind as she drifted. She was too far gone.

Louisa watched in horror as Aspen's eyes fluttered - then turned a startling white. Beams shot from her eyes, her fingers.

<You see?> laughed the Pokémon. <I can't believe no body has ever tried this before! It makes it so easy!>

"Stop." she grated, well aware of her fists clenching in anger. "Release her now."

<She is right, Omneon.> a low growl came, announcing the arrival of yet another Pokémon. <You risk your life again with your foul misdeeds. I have no misgivings against tearing you apart, the Balance be forgotten.>

"There was never any balance." Aspen croaked, in a voice that did not seem her own. "It was always you that was stronger!"

Planning

Aspen is on Watthorn.

- Do I do the Omneon thing NOW or later on in the storyline?

- What goes on before the Guardian is resurrected?

- Should Omneon be after this event? YES

* How is Aspen separated? (when she meets Omneon?)

What happens after she gets separated the first time?
*Watthorn panicks? - at a Dragon? (Flora?) (Electric?)
*Bolts. Where? Why?

20.09.06
What else in the storyline do I possibly need to add?
(Still to do
- Aspen meets Omneon
- Louisa sides with humans
- Louisa summons Karda
- Karda resurrects the Guardian
- Louisa battles Guardian)

THIS IDEA STINKS... It just doesn't work!

HAHA! I am so good! BRAINSTORM IDEA

Voltrex appears and spiralls out of the sky behind the group. Storm clouds follow his arrival, and Watthorn bolts - panicked.
Voltrex flies downward and swipes both Watthorn and Aspen from the ground. Watthorn goes bezerk in its handhold - both the dragon side and the electric power intensifying its fear.
It turns and flies away from the group in the air and heads towards the island north of Minami.
There, Aspen is dislodged deliberately and falls onto the sand. Voltrex carries off Watthorn and Aspen is left alone... (Voltrex goes off to the beach and eats Watthorn.)
She explores further in, noting the silence. When she comes to the temple and Omneon, the Pokémon is... what? Alive or marble? Since it's daytime - Omneon is alive.
She comes into eye contact immediately - as she came from the direction of its lookout point.
Omneon hisses in surprise, and holds eye contact. She is then captured as he takes control of her light power.
Meanwhile, the other group are shocked as they see Voltrex wing away with Aspen & Watthorn firmly in his talons.
Rose and Sage make to go after them but all are delayed when yet another dragon makes an appearance - this time Schorshan, who's Fire Prophet is still down below commanding for some reason.
Schorshan tempts Louisa into joining their cause - namely; to take control of the island once more where humans had dominated only yesterday.
Louisa refuses and rebukes her duty as a dragon of Minami. Schorshan flames them in reply, panicking Philippa - who is still guarding Briar. (Stuff - action scene happen here)

(Eventually Louisa decides to bring in the big guns. She summons Karda. However, her dragon guardian/friend

They flee from Schorshan and head to the northern island where they're pretty sure Aspen is. When they get there, Aspen is standing wraithlike Watt the remains of Watthorn are on the beach. Sage is revolted and is even more worried now about Aspen's fate.
They call urgently, and don’t even have to enter the forest - for Aspen wanders down to them looking extremely shell-shocked. Cedar at once recognises her power and proclaims her as Light Princess (at first Aspen thinks they're talking about Watthorn)
Omneon appears, and after Aspen's disbelief, furthers this by saying she was only used by him to harness more Light power.
When they argue this, Omneon demonstrates again. Sage snatches his daughter angrily, and raves at the Pokémon.

- Does Trinyte appear here? - Yes why not. Omneon gets pissed off after it rebukes him, and declares that Trinyte was always the strongest without even trying. Trinyte argues that their powers were always equal: The Great Balance.

Trinyte teleports himself away - along with Omneon: with the explanation that they must settle their differences elsewhere - and not in the company of humans.

Louisa summons Karda. However, the great dragon decides to side with the other dragons, telling Louisa the only way to anull each of the other dragon’s powers is to bring them together. He knows what will happen - and knows that by saving Louisa he also betrays her.

He flies them all back to the main island and then departs towards the lands them in the center of Minami. Here, Philippa recognises the grove of the One Tree. Meanwhile - the Dragons have congregated around Karda in the air.

They fly in a circle - getting faster & faster. Eventually, a maelstrom of energy is formed with Karda in the centre. Karda joins with the energy and the Guardian is formed. (insert the ritual here)

Instantly the One Tree roars into life - humming and wailing. Instantly the One Tree

The Guardian attacks moves towards the nearest human town slowly. As he goes - life springs up - trees, flowers, bushes.
Louisa recognises the danger & goes to attack the Guardian (FIGHT SCENE)
She gets pounded to a pulp - but gives as good as she gets. The Guardian is wounded, and retreats towards the grove once more.

Trinyte and Omneon appear once more.
Omneon is depressed and is willing to finally die for his mistake deliberate twisting of the ritual.

Narrative type time

Rose & Sage watched in horror as the now minature form of the electric dragon finally disappeared from sight. Briar wriggled in Louisa's grip, looking close to tears again.
"We have to follow it," Cedar yelled, just giving an unconcious pat to her Pokémon. "No matter what - we have to get Aspen back here."
Sage wheeled his Abmamylf to the left. "Let's go past the shop village shops towards the sea."
Abmamylf roared, and set off, the rest following gladly.

(Ahahaha! I never thought something like this could work! It’s perfect! ←Omneon’s thought.)

10 minutes later, Sage was just turning towards the beach and the row of shops opposite the road when he noticed the burning raw
(what can the smell of a bush fire be described as?)
sensation in his lungs that smell.
"Can you smell smoke?" he asked Rose worriedly, slowing Abmamylf a fraction. Rose nodded numbly in reply.
Shrieks sounded from below. To the left winged the form of a red-sheened dragon, its contact with the ground producing small spot-fires which humans rushed to put out.

In the distance, on the horizon, a firey line of bushfire could be seen. Philippa yelled in shock as the dragon angled towards them. "Uh oh... looks like bad news for me..."

Louisa glanced down at the fleeing humans, now being pursued by the dragon.
"Wait a sec... there! Look at the guy in red!" She folded her wings slightly and allowed herself to freefall slowly. Pensively, Philippa gathered Briar closer.
Pensively, Philippa followed.

Once on the ground, Louisa strode aggressively forward, towards the greying man in a red cloak. "Hey!" she yelled. "What's the big idea?"

The man turned slowly, eyeing the two up-and-down. "How dare you talk to me in that manner?"

"Do you have anything to do with this?" she said, ignoring the soft threat, and gestured towards the fire breathing dragon who had now landed close to them.
Philippa winced as she felt her green cloak dulling in colour, and could even felt sense the almighty heat coming radiating from the dragon in waves.

"I am one of the Summoners..." he replied coolly. "And do not answer politely to freaks such as yourself."

Before he had finished his sentence, Louisa had him in a deathgrip - one hand gripping the front of the cloak, the other poised and ready. "What I am happen to be is unimportant. However, I asked you a question, and I expect it to be answered!"

The man laughed, a mad cackle, and his eyes seeking those of the dragon's. "Fire! Kill them! They threaten the balance! Kill them!"

"All shall feel my flames." it rumbled in reply, and breathed deeply. There was a vast sound as its maw opened widely, and its whole body jerked, spewing flames.

Louisa whisked into the air, throwing up a shield of water as she did so. Philippa darted right, the dragon's nose following her eagerly, and then up to join the others.

The huge head of the dragon rose to meet them, smoke billowing as it did so. "You burn, little one," it huffed. "and I know your flames. How you wish to see peace here again."

"I burn cool, red one. And I will fight be ice to your flame as you burn hot."

Robert cast a searching wondering eye towards Philippa Cedar, who shrugged in reply.

"And yet ice can be melted if it is the flame burns strong. Surely, as the river feeds creates the forest, so is can grown and st can the flames sun also feed you create the rainbow.”

"Peace will not come again unless the rainbow shines for no one but the land I fight for it. And a rainbow cannot fight battle."

“Do not burn too brightly, little one,” it cajoled, turned away. “You may burn dis not like the flames you create. Multicoloured fire

"Let's get going." Louisa snapped, only pausing when she noticed the quizzical expression on the faces. "Oh... well, that's just the way you have to talk to dragons."

"Did you hear me?" the man shrieked, hands outstretched. "Kill them!"

<I may cannot.> the dragon rumbled, its long snakelike long thorned head swinging round to stare the human in the eye. <But I can kill you the others who must feel my flames.>

Philippa started, and quickly dodged eye contact with the big creature who had now turned his attention upon her. "Take B "You'll have to take Briar..." she implored, settling her down on Abmamylf. "Head to an evacuation shelter or something. We can get Aspen back quicker knowing you're not in the thick of battle too."

Sage's eyebrows furrowed, but Rose had already come to a conclusion - for she leant forward and grabbed the feathery neck of the Pokémon, urging it towards the beach beyond the shops.

<Feel my flames, human...> the dragon gloated, its throat already gurgling dangerously.

"Evasive maneuverers! Ready, Go!" Philippa shrieked madly, grinning as the adrenaline caught up. Backflipping in midair, she zoomed over to Lou and the pair shot up higher as the dragon zoned in on them. Behind them, Cedar Pidgeot trilled and darted left. The blast of flame caught her by sur-prise, its heat radiating from it at the least at least a metre away.

There was, however, no sign the dragon had risen to meet them as they continued towards the coast-line. Behind them, Cedar followed with Robert in tow.
"I sure hope we don't find the worst when we get there..." Louisa sighted, and cast a knowing look at her friend.
"Neither. "So do I.> Philippa replied, and quickened her pace.

Aspen woke to the calls of dusk late afternoon. There were several twitters from the trees which encircled her, but as she stood clumsily lifted her head from the litter tree litter and regained her balance from the foetal position she had been in, the cries stopped.

What a headache she had! Her eyes smarted as she blinked furiously to try and clear it - and somehow there was she had no memory of anything since midday. Where were her family? Oh - that was right... the dragon had carried her here.

Stumbling away from the shrine, she entered the forest determined to find her way back to the main island... somehow.

She reached the beach in a few minutes and was delighted to see her two newly-made friends circling the boundaries of the island - perhaps scouting for any signs.

After waving, they set lightly in front of her, grinning.

"Hi..." she said weakly. "Where are... is it Cedar? and the others? What happened to mum & dad? & Briar?" (Get your priorities right!) she thought a second later. Briar meant to the world to her no matter how they squabbled.

"Cedar is just over there looking for you. Your parents & sister are fine; they're back at a rescue shelter on the main island."

Cedar looked up and smiled when Aspen came into view. "Hey! Good to see you're fine."

Aspen nearly gagged in response when she saw what Cedar was had been studying. “What...?”

There was the strewn remains of her father's steed - Watthorn. Its head & neck at Cedar's feet was perhaps the only recognisable part of its body. Hair and fur

Then The End Comes...

*This is the part of the climax. Louisa has battled the Guardian and lost. Trinyte & Omneon have disappeared. They stand in the silent Grove and watch as the Guardian staggers toward them and the protection of the One Tree. Louisa is beaten and on the ground groaning.

*Teh... what happens now?
I'll try something.
- Aspen tries to summon light under Cedar's encouragement. She can't.
- Omneon appears - a blinding light suddenly coming from Aspen's hands.
Omneon is feeling incredibly guilty after Trinyte's scolding and apologises - telling her that all the Light power he was using back at the island was in fact hers all along and he was draining her by linking to it.
- He explains all - then tells that he must die now, because it was the last straw in his long line of wrongdoings. Although... Aspen or anyone else don't understand and they ask why the penalty must be death.
Sansol
But he cannot kill himself - it's also something legendaries can't do, or even attempt. He asks Aspen to baptise him with Light, then
cremate him with it in the process.

take his Light power from him since he must wants someone to have it.
Aspen puts her hands on him and gets Light power from what she thinks is him.
His elements dis-appear and she feels him from back when he was Sol Sansol Solsan
. (←use this)
All his Elements finally negated - he dies.
He dies in Light. Immediately, Trinyte appears - hunched over in discomfort. He appe explains that the Great Balance has now suffered its last blow - it has vanished altogether.
As soon as he finishes - he cries in pain & power, the sky darkens and the sun disappears.

Omne Trinyte metamorphoses into a Dark spirit - powerful & numb to pain. The Black thunderbolts rain from the sky.
The Guardian, fast now, reaches the Silent Grove. Philippa tries to link with it & her Flora powers. It circles slowly, as if noticing the humans there for the first time. It brandishes a hand towards Trinyte's power - pulling it in. It absorbs the power - annulling it, and restoring a temporary balance.

The Guardian sings. The song seems to pause life.- even the swaying trees. Its legs retreat into the earth - branching out & melding together. Its belly & torso wide lengthen & become hard trunk. Its arms, brandished, become branches & leaves.

It negates Trinyte's power by absorbing most of it - then reaches for an invisible sun, behind clouds, to bring down a beacon of light. Holding light in the left & dark in the right, it places them on the grass beside it sends them towards the island.
Then, energy blasts from the Tree as it cleanses the island. Nothing is very physically changed - yet everything feels more special & hallowed.

Then the Tree goes into slumber. A bit of conversation.

Celebi appears - congratulates them - although they didn't really do anything extreme. Serebii explaining their very "being there" allowed Aspen to reach Omneon - Solsan - and that in turn allowed Trinyte to find him.

Philippa says she didn't understand - she thought the One Tree was meant to be like others and grow. Serebii says that in fact, the One Tree was there all alone - it was just in spiritual form as the Guardian.

If they wanted, they could see what happened by using the Tree itself - as it is a Time Tree, and is able to project and image of that day.
<IDEA>
I thought that Serebii could ask politely for the Tree to show - but I got a brain storm idea just then.

Because Cedar is the great ancestor of descendant of Ash - She can access Aura ‘cos she’s a throw-back of the old non-Elemental powers which are all but nonexistent now.

She is instructed by Serebii to touch the tree with that want in her mind. The tree swirls - instantly they are clothed in Aura power.

The Tree is much more powerful than Time Flowers - and is able to project things from other areas far away as if they were real.

---------------------------------------- Time Tree remembrance --------------------------------------------

The legendary Biplitee (crappy name, I know) is sleeping on the grassy hillocks on the beach. It awakes to see strange things in the distance - Pokémon surfing & flying with strange banners. Humans come too.

It looks worried - clambering up towards the forest. It rushes through the trees with the aid of trees & vines.

It reaches the One Tree - and speaks mind-to-mind. The Tree quivers. The pirates have reached the forest. They light fires on torches, entering the trees. One swings an axe - lodging it into the trunk of a tree.

All hell breaks loose. The One Tree screams in fury. Flora energy blasts in a semicircle circular direction, but the Fire nullifies it.

The frantic legendary clambers up the trunk of the One Tree & links again. Desperate, the One Tree absorbs it slowly. Aura melds with Flora.

The Tree grows liquified - and slowly becomes transparent, changing shape into a mass of Flora Aura energy.

Blast Another Aura blast - the pirates are decimated.

The One Tree's aura star dissipates into the environment - until the return of the humans... (in the beginning of the story)

THEN - the Time Tree switches places & shows them Omneon's twisted ritual. Finally Aspen understands fully.
More images flash. After the death of David & ??? (can’t remember ^^’) she breaks contact, horrified.
(way to not bore the readers)

Finally, Mewtwo appears. Serebii rejects the idea of them going back in 1) Time 2) Distance - saying that they have no place in Minami's future past.

Ced & Aspen bid farewell to each other.
Philippa hugs the One Tree
----- What about Karda -----
Louisa is distraught once again (before it was when the Guardian was formed) Should he
A) Be born again back in Kanto?
B) Be unliving then reborn some time we don’t see?
C) Appear then?
D) ???

Karda is an omnipotent immortal creature - he "died" - ceased to exist - once the dragons merged, however he still lives, and will join Louisa soon, once she reaches Kanto again.

Serebii takes them back in time - then Mewtwo back in dista

With that, Sereb Mewtwo whisks them all away from Minami to Kanto - where the land is lush like before. Cedar starts. She remembers it as being barren & destroyed. The Game of Time has been played - now the new destiny for Minami has changed the destiny of Kanto. etc.

Surprised, Serebii laughs. The God of Destiny has pulled a prank on the God of Time. Serebii reminisces how it has played the Game over & over to accomplish a little of what she sees now - to no avail. Only with the Game being brought to Minami has Kanto flourished in the meantime.

(Basically the other two movie plotlines are explained here. The two versions of the Kanto apocalypse have short cameos. The horrible barren land in the beginning was the beginning of the end - the prequel being the good. Elementals being beaten by their power-hungry siblings. What we see now is the result of the other side of fate, the good beating the others.)

Then Mewtwo Serebii sends them back to their own time. She makes a mistake though - distracted by the Game - & in fact they're a few seconds ahead.

The humans doubl start to fade - they cannot survive so close to their doppelgangers & hope to exist. Quickly Serebii tears through the barrier of time just as the others top the hill and stare.

Epilogue: Aspen is at home cradling a new-born Solsan (Omneon). She knows one day she'll have to let it into the wild (it's a Light legendary) but until then she's going to love it, and teach it.

Any More?
