Pokémon Rebirth was a website I discovered many years back when I was in highschool (it's longer than it feels, believe me!). I feel extremely lucky to have this site in my affiliates list, not only does it give me most of my hits, it's given me so much inspiration since the very beginning. In fact, once I chanced upon Neuto and Rebirth pretty much simultaneously (Neuto is listed in my Notable Faker Sites list) I was inspired to really get going with the site (for you know; Minami and all its ideas have been around for around eight years now, ever since the lead up to the year 2000, but the site is very much younger).
Rebirth is a faker site with a difference. Actually, dozens. Not only have they a fully documented Pokédex of both regular (all original designs) and Team Rocket experimental monsters (both splices and pseudo-evolutions of official species), there's fanfiction spanning from adventures in the fictional land of 'Tatto' (read 'Ultimatum' for a look at Tattoan myths, history, trainership, evil in the form of a well known secret syndicate and of course the Pokémon characters) and also spinoff stories of the official anime, such as 'Blank Pages' and 'Unrequited Youth'. Plus many more in the making.
Possibly the thing which holds it all together is the Rebirpedia (previously known as the G-Files); another interesting idea which I wish I'd thought of! XD The Rebirpedia not only has articles which explain about specific Rebirth-fic canon, but also focuses upon taking several different facets of the official world of Pokémon (such as the anime, the movies and the games), mixing them all together, and coming up with all new (logical) explanations which really make the Pokémon world make more sense. (A really, really challenging idea mind you, given all the stuff in the movies which are brushed on and then discarded in the next scenes). Hence the catchphrases: "Once you go deeper, you can never go back." and "Are you ready to look deeper?"
Fans with interest in fake/original Pokémon and fanfiction should most definitely check this site out. Hey, even if you're not too keen on the fakers give it a go. One caution - it's aimed towards a young-adult/adult audience, but that shouldn't be a problem for most visitors considering how old the average Pokémon die-hard fans are now.
Minami was accepted onto Rebirth's affiliate list sometime in 06.
In their own words, 'Pokémon Defender is a site designed to teach new players how to get acquainted with the competitive metagame'. This site has very concise analyses of Pokémon for use in computer simulation programs against other people around the world. I haven't really got into this idea of battling, as I've never had the time to either really learn and experiment with anything net-related. However, I'm sure you have. So go visit. They've also got a forum to discuss online battles so you can join in and share your own expertise.
Pokémon Amber: The Untold Memoir is a new affiliate, based around the fanfiction story of Anthony Ketchum, Ash's father. I've not had much leisurely time to look around the site, but do check it out and read the story. From a first glance it looks to be a good one. I'll update this Info section later.
